Us
There
are some great stories in this world and many have been
published. But what of those that have not been. Everybody Writes was
formed with the idea that people who love to write
should have a place to get together with people who love
to read. Just
as importantly, some people might have hidden talents
and need little more than an avenue to be noticed.
Then we thought: what if we could offer that
avenue to both publishers and writers.
Some of that hidden talent might be brought to
the surface.
From
our first days in the education system we are taught to
write. We
feel that Everybody Writes,
although few have had a place to share their words with
others. Even
those who insist they have never written anything have
some great stories that many others would love to hear.
Our partners felt that this might be a place
dedicated to those who have yet to be discovered.
During
early discussions our partners found that a common
thread that we all held was our love for the written
word, our appetite for research and a need for others to
enjoy our work. What better place than the Internet to
make that happen.
Our goal was simple.
We had to have a website that was easy to use,
available to every-one, and affordable.
Choosing a name was not a problem.
We know there is a writer in every person.
We just needed a way to extract it.
Everybody Writes
was the only name that truly fit.
A couple of the partners have a talent for web
design and felt they could use this talent to give any
person who felt the need to express their opinion a
place to do so.
Everybodywrites.com
was born.
Although
we would love to say that the web is a great free place
to bring people together, the reality is that there are
costs involved. Most
sites use advertisers to pay for their site at the
expense of the user.
Once you get through the massive amount of
advertising some sites put in front of you there is
little room for the information.
It is our goal to make our site a member funded
site and hopefully not use advertising.
We felt that $9.99 a year (less than a dollar a
month) would fund our efforts while making it affordable
to any one who wants to share their thoughts.
Our partners all feel like we have high moral
values and want to keep Everybody
Writes a family site.
This means keeping the smut off our site.
We hope that many of the amateur writers in this
world become part of our family.
Our
partners are all every-day people, with some great
stories that needed to be told.
You will find these stories embedded in the great
variety of information on this site.
Our excitement from the beginning has been in
anticipation of the stories that will be pouring in over
the next several years and the variety of ideas that
will be shared. We
have a vision for this site but understand that this
will be a site that will evolve as our members tell us
what they want. We
feel that the future of this site belongs to the members
and it is they who will tell us how it will be shaped as
time goes on.
